Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

There’s nothing quite like enjoying seafood and live music overlooking the surf of South Florida at a longtime local favorite, Boston’s on the Beach. Here, you can sip on a crafty cocktail while breathing in the salty air and breathtaking views of the Atlantic, or chow down on a juicy burger and beer while enjoying your favorite sports game. A few steps further on Ocean Boulevard is Cafe Luna Rosa, a bustling bistro and Delray Beach staple that serves up the most delicious and comforting American dishes for breakfast and Italian specialties for dinner — all in an elevated, open-air dining room. Deck 84 is a playful and colorful place for waterfront dining. In their Top 100 Al Fresco dining room, you can savor everything from smoked fish dip and crispy calamari to prime beef burgers all while taking in beautiful Intracoastal views. If you are looking for a weekend brunch spot, look no further than Sunday House for a savory and sweet Sunday meal served in a gorgeous and classic setting that’s also home to a 4-star hotel.

Things to Do

There are lots of things to do in Delray — especially if you enjoy getting outside and taking on the town in the warm Florida sunshine. The Pineapple Grove Arts District, located just off Atlantic Avenue, is dotted with amazing murals and sculptures for public viewing and photo-snapping, art galleries for musing, shops for perusing, restaurants for snacking, and — of course — the legendary Artists Alley, where local artists create and display their works. Arts Garage hosts all types of musicians, from Grammy Award-winning performers to emerging local artists, so you can always get your live music fill. It also serves as a gallery featuring local talent and offers visual and performing arts education for children and adults. Take a break at the Silverball Museum, a one-of-a-kind boardwalk game spot and snack bar starring pinball machines from the 1930s to the present. Sandoway House is a 1936 historic beachfront home turned award-winning nature center with shark and stingray feedings, exhibits, and fun tours. A great spot to get active or see sporting events is the Delray Tennis Center, which holds events like the Delray Beach Open, a competitive men’s tournament, and the Chris Evert/Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Classic, where celebrities and tennis pros unite to raise money for charity. The center also offers various classes, programs, camps, and tournaments for children and adults. The lakeside Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens is a beautiful and historical place to see another side of culture in serene outdoor spaces. It offers tea ceremonies and calligraphy workshops and hosts yearly festivals as well as weddings and other private events.

Delray Marketplace offers events for the whole family and is located in the up-and-coming West Delray Beach area, conveniently located close to the Florida Turnpike. Attractions here include Frank Theaters Cinebowl & Grill and an amphitheater that hosts many outdoor events throughout the year. You’ll never be bored with tons of exciting annual events, like the Delray Affair, Garlic Festival, Festival of the Arts, Savor the Ave, Delray Beach Open, holiday parades and events, and more.
