Seasonal Sips & Snacks: The Ultimate Summer Food Guide for Adults & Kids

By Alejandra Zamora

Upper 80s to low 90s are the projected high temperatures for this month. In other words, June is bringing us the first taste of the summer heat. When it gets this hot, all you may want to do is lounge by the pool or hang out in the ocean to cool off. While those are all viable options on the weekend, what can you do during the week to beat the heat? Look to cooling food & drinks at some popular spots in South Florida! Whether you’re a kid or an adult, who doesn’t love a frozen drink or ice cream on a hot day? In this blog post, we’re sharing the ultimate guide to local restaurants in the area where you can sip or snack on a delicious summer treat.

FOR ADULTS:

Raw Juce

Located in multiple South Florida cities like Boca, Weston, and Fort Lauderdale, Raw Juce is a great grab & go spot for refreshing drinks like juices and smoothies and cold snacks like acai bowls and energy bites.

Our menu pick: Chocolate Zenergy Bomb

Patio Tapas & Beer in Boca Raton

Small bites like Spanish tapas are great for a quick after-work meal with friends, and Patio Tapas & Beer in Royal Palm Plaza is the perfect place for that. There’s plenty of cooling summer snacks on the menu, too, like gazpacho!

Our menu pick: Piquillo Relleno Montadito

Treehouse in West Palm Beach

A cocktail bar is another great after-work spot to get together, and we love this one in downtown West Palm. The best part? These bars usually have seasonal cocktails, so you can expect a variety of summery drinks to choose from.

Our menu pick: Blood Orange Pomegranate Frose

Mussel Beach Restaurant in Delray Beach

Fresh seafood screams summer-- ask any Floridian! We have plenty of local spots for the freshest catches in town, but we love Mussel Beach in downtown Delray.

Our menu pick: Lobster Roll

Aroma Joe’s in Pompano Beach

Originally a chain in the Northeast, Aroma Joe’s started opening up locations recently in Florida, serving up coffee and breakfast items on-the-go. They have some great choices for iced and frozen coffee drinks.

Our menu pick: Handcrafted Mocha FroJoe

FOR KIDS:

Spiked Rich in Davie

This South Florida creamery is every ice cream fanatic’s dream: Spiked Rich has nitrogen ice cream, milkshakes, cookies, alcohol-infused treats, and more!

Our menu pick: PB Lover Sundae

A.C.'s Icees in Miami

If you ever find yourself in Miami with the family, stop by A.C.’s Icees food truck in Coconut Grove. Whether you’re coming from the beach, a museum, or the park, a frozen icee is a great option to wrap-up the day.

Our menu pick: Frozen Lemonade

Cielito Artisan Pops in Boca Raton

How does a Tres Leches or Pineapple Coconut frozen popsicle sound on a sweltering day? Those are just two flavor options you can find at Cielito Artisan Pops right in Mizner Park. They even have dairy-free options and pup-sicles!

Our menu pick: Banana with Dulce de Leche

3 Natives in Boca Raton

Smoothies are a wonderful summer treat for kids because they can be packed with flavor, protein, and even vegetables! 3 Natives in Boca offers a great selection of fruit, sweet, and sneaky green smoothies.

Our menu pick: All Hopped Up

Nanou Ocean in Fort Lauderdale

This bakery is right across the street from Lauderdale-By-The-Sea beach, serving up breakfast, snacks, and fresh sandwiches, perfect for before, during, or after your trip to the beach!

Our menu pick: Turkey Club Sandwich

Stay cool!

Almost all places mentioned can be for both adults and kids, of course :)
